Tamlyn is the lecturer and module coordinator for Integrated Business Studies (IBS), a first year core course for the Bachelor of Business Science programme. She is passionate about this module and how it benefits students in terms of their critical thinking, academic writing and presentation skills. She has over ten years of teaching experience in undergraduate economics and IBS and has also taught an honours level research methodology course.
Tamlyn is currently pursuing her PhD in economics, her work is entitled “Childhood and adult disability: impacts on education and the labour market in South Africa”. Her interests in health economics and particularly the work pertaining to disability was sparked through her internship at the Health Economics and HIV/AIDS Research Division (HEARD) at UKZN.
