Kajal Ramnanun is a lecturer in Management Accounting. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management, a Masters in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has fully completed professional qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Associates of Cost and Management Accountants (ACMA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and is currently pursuing her PhD in Accounting. Ramnanun’s teaching experience includes lecturing management accounting and financial accounting. Her knowledge of strategic Financial Accounting and Management and Cost Accounting principles has been supplemented by extensive experience within the private sector as she has worked in senior positions at Global Manufacturing, FMCG’s and other service sectors prior to joining academia. Her research interests are in Insolvency, Turnaround Management, Business rescue, the impact of post-commencement finance on financially distressed companies and strategic management.
